He is a Principal Investigator in the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity ATHENE. His research includes pattern recognition, iris and face recognition, security aspects of biometric systems, secure process design and privacy enhancing technologies for biometric systems. He is a Senior Consultant at secunet Security Networks AG in the Division of Homeland Security
